I knew Randy best for a short time back in the '70s when he lived in an orchard in Oyama, BC, and had hair down to his waist. So did I. I was passing through in the fall of 1976, broke, and he took me in like it was nothin' at all. I slept on his carpet in front of the wood stove for a few weeks until I got myself sorted out and moved on again. The kids were still pretty young then. His generosity was unhesitating and natural as breathing. While I was there, I substituted on his curling team as Lead. He was the Skip. And once in a while we had a beer. Gone too soon. My condolences.

We will miss you Randy. It was always good to hear how well things were going for you and for your family. We met when we were fifteen and shared the same interests for all this time. It didn't matter how long a gap there was between our visits, we carried on where we left off as if a day hadn't even gone by. my brother Dan Arbuckle RIP was not only a cousin to Randy but also they were best friends at one time especially at Oyama and on the mountain at Kelowna. I will never forget Randy's face when he held his twin sisters for the first time at Welthas. My Mom Colleen Arbuckle RIP and myself were frequent visitors at Randy's Mom;s place. Needless to say Randy bugged me a lot just like a big brother. He did save me once from guys that were following me. took me under his wing and scared them off. Please accept my sincerest condolences on the loss of Randy. For almost 40 years I've known Randy and it was hard for me as a fireman to arrive on scene and discover I couldn't help him at the end. I was glad to know him and have many fond memories of him. Ahhhh....the stories...... May you, his family, find peace in knowing he was loved and that there are so many who mourn his loss with you and support you in this time of grieving. With sincerest respects.
