Obituary of Clara Sellick
Clara Louise Sellick was born on August 28, 1909 in Germany. The youngest child of Ludwig and Louise Elsasser. Clara had one brother August Elsasser and three sisters Hedwig Wolfe, Freda Phillips and Bertha Meyer.
They immigrated to Canada when Clara was three. They lived in Edmonton, Nelson, British Columbia and Clyde, Alberta. At Clyde she met and married Harold Busteed. To this union one child was born Clara Violet. Harold passed away when Clara Violet was four years old. She remained a widow for many years.
She later married William Sellick. They moved to Edmonton and Clara worked at the General Hospital in housekeeping. She enjoyed the city life. Gardening and flowers were her passion. She loved to shop, loved Christmas and her many birthday parties with family and friends. She passed away at Killam, Alberta on March 25, 2013 at the age of 103.
Left to cherish her memories: daughter Violet (Vernon) Coates; grandchildren Karen Coates (Tony), Glen Coates, Katherine (Terry) Parsons; great grandchildren Jon Belous, Grant Belous (Lindsey), Ryan Parsons (Raelynn), Kimberly Parsons (Aaron) and Rylee Coates.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the First Christian Church, 13407 - 97 Street, Edmonton. Interment will take place in the Beechmount Cemetery.
