Obituary of Edna Fee
After being cared for in the most compassionate and loving manner by Kathleen, Edna Fee died quietly and peacefully in Doug and Kathy's home in DeWinton on Sunday, March 3, 2013.
Born on January 13, 1919 in Southey, Saskatchewan, but a resident of Killam since 1932, Edna was the daughter of Letitia May (Foster) and William Stewart Fairweather and sister of Grace. She lived a life of respectful, quiet and exemplary service to the health community, her church and her family.
She was a 1941 graduate of the Misericordia Hospital Nursing Program and faithfully served as office nurse for Drs Voloshin, Ken and Jeanette MacQuarrie and worked at the Auxiliary Hospital in Killam from its opening in 1963. She steadfastly enabled Edward, her husband of 59 years, to serve on many boards and organizations.
She was married to Edward Fee on April 28, 1943. Edna's present family is comprised of children, Douglas, Corinne and Richard. Doug and his wife, Kathleen (DeWinton), have two sons, Bill and Russell. Corinne and her husband, Garry Oberg (Sherwood Park), have two daughters, Erin and Kristin. Rick (Toronto) has a son, Nkwuda, who is married to Kelechi, and they have two children, Kendra and Brankston. Bill is married to Jessica Hrechka (Terrace). Russell and his wife, Brydie (Calgary), have two sons, Liam and Charlie. Erin is married to Jeremy McKain (Edmonton). Kristin and her husband, Kelly Merrick (Sherwood Park), have two sons, Caiden and Sawyer. In addition to her parents, Edna was predeceased by her sister, Grace in 2006, a grand-daughter, Sandra Kathleen, two infant grandsons, Tommy and Douglas, and her husband, Edward, in 2002.
Funeral services will be held at Knox United Church in Killam on Wednesday, March 6 at 11:00 am. The Reverend Stephen Haughland officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Killam Presbyterian Church or the Killam Cemetery Association.
