Obituary of Alan Fee
Dr. Alan Douglas Fee of Edmonton, passed away on January 14, 2008 at the age of 87 years. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife, Isabel; two daughters, Barbara (Barry) Sheptycki, Beverly (Bill) Shields, one son, Kenneth (Susan) Fee seven grandchildren, Kevin and Christopher Sheptycki, Morgan, Connor and Ghislaine Shields, Danielle and Brianna Fee; sisters-in-law, Edna Fee, Mary Matheson, Margaret Mullin and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alan was predeceased by his parents, A. Edward and Stella Fee and three brothers, Russell, Gordon and Edward Fee.
Alan was a practicing dentist in Edmonton for 40 years, and professor Emeritus, University of Alberta. He served in WW II in the Royal Canadian Dental Corps from 1942 - 1946 with the rank of Captain and later in the Royal Canadian Dental Corps Militia from 1948 - 1960 with the rank of Lt Colonel and Commanding Officer of #60 Dental Unit. He was a Charter member of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a fellow of the American College of Dentists and a fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International.
After retirement Alan and Isabel traveled to many parts of the world, but his favorite retreat was his summer cottage at Pigeon Lake where family and friends gathered regularly. He will be missed and remembered.
A funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Dayspring Presbyterian Church, 11445 - 40 Avenue at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Annabelle Wallace officiating. Interment will take place at 3:30 p.m. in the Killam Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
