I first met Don when we were on the Strome Seed Plant Board. I’ve always thought he was an easy going nice guy to be around. Later in years I enjoyed playing 500 with him and his friends at the Drop In Centre. Don was known for his favourite saying. “Didn’t I deal last time?” I will miss him.

Most of my memories of Uncle Donnie were when I would stay with Adele. We were usually out in the barnyard with him to help with the chores. I also remember the time his band was practicing in the shed and they left Adele and I sign along. Rest In Peace. Thoughts and Prayers.

My uncle was also my Godfather. That was very special as I always felt a special connection with Uncle Donnie. He was always supportive and I enjoyed being around him when I was younger and enjoyed visits as I grew older. I will always remember Uncle as longer as I am alive. My condolences to Aunt Mary Ann and the family.

Uncle Donnie had such a big heart and a place for everyone in it. When we (4 of his nieces) were young, Donnie put one of his many skills to work and made 4 Chests (called Hope Chests at that time) for Margaret, Maxine, Roseanne and myself for Christmas. Those chests stayed in our family for a long time - and were always appreciated. Many thoughts to the all the family.

My last personal memory of uncle Donny was when he came to visit me at my home in BC.
I just finished making some fresh homemade garlic soup.... He ate a whole bowl full, said he enjoyed it, however he never came back again, so I always wondered if that soup scard him away. Lol lol Rest In Peace uncle, and say “hi” to the rest of the family for me, when you see them all “in joy” again. Blessings to all Cheryl xo

Donnie was an amazing cousin! For him, there were no strangers, only friends he had not met yet. He worked hard and played hard and made everything fun. He always had that twinkle in his eye. He kept our family connection alive when the miles (or are those kilometers?) between Minnesota and Alberta separated us. These are just a few of my favorite photos of him and many good times together. He will be sorely missed. Sending my love from this side of the border to all of his family. Delette

Don and MaryAnn were to celebrate their 65th in June of 2020. However, because of COVID19 it was a very different event - with one member of the family going to their window and publishing this photo in the Newspaper. They were an example of Patience and Tolerance and shared so much together.
