Obituary of Dianne Robinson
Dianne Lynne Robinson was born July 30, 1947 in Edmonton, AB to Lloyd and Ruth Peacock.
After a valiantly fought battle with cancer, she passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital on October 29, 2020 at the age of 73.
Dianne grew up in Alliance with her parents and her sister and eventually lived many happy years in the Hardisty area with her husband Bill and their children.
After trying her hand at several occupations, she found her calling working as a family support worker with Family Services. She found this work challenging, but extremely rewarding, and everyone she came in contact with held a special place in her heart.
Her biggest accomplishment, according to her, was her family. She enjoyed nothing more than cooking for them, going to watch various sporting events, Christmas concerts, camping, or just sitting and visiting.
Her grandchildren were blessed with knitted items, personalized quilts, and buns made with love.
Dianne is survived by her three children, Vernon (Corrine) McMahon, Vicki (Brent) Child, and Greg (Sara) Robinson; seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Bradley, Alisha (Stew), Travis, Adam, Emily, and Abigail; and two great-grandchildren, Kloe and Autumn. She also leaves her mother Ruth Peacock and her sister Debra (Garry) Swainson, sisters-in-law Fay (Kent) Williamson and Freda (Allen) Jackson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and some really awesome friends.
Dianne was predeceased by her husband Bill Robinson and her father Lloyd Peacock.
Dianne’s family is very thankful for the support of family and friends during this difficult time. We would like to thank Dr. Boyd, Dr. Chapman, Andrew, and all the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for the genuine love and consideration you shared with our Mom.
As per Dianne’s wishes, there will be a small private family memorial to celebrate her journey. Memorial donations may be made to the cancer foundation of one’s choice or STARS.
