Alfred was born to Alphonse and Mary Kroetsch on July 6, 1935 on their farm near

Alfred is survived by his loving wife, Deloras; children Dean (Cindy), Rosalie (Greg), Gail, Gary (Cara); grandchildren Brianne (Noel), Lisa (David), Aaron, Brady, Amiah, Jorgen, Anders, Halee, Tsebaot, Sarah (Cody), Alyssa (Justin), Matthew, Taylor, Trent (Jamey); great-grandchildren Carter, Alannah and Elaina.
Alfred was predeceased by his parents Alphonse and Mary; parents-in-law Carl and Verdie; brothers Leo, Art, Wilfred, Jim, Ernie/Byron; sisters Catherine, Agnes and Kay; son-in-law Darren; as well as numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.
Alfred enjoyed the rural life, spending time with family and friends, working with animals, woodworking and mechanics. However, Alfred mostly loved being with Deloras, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He instilled in them the importance of unconditional love, family, helping and making time for friends, a committed, yet humble work ethic and a strong Christian faith.
Alfred will always be remembered for his quiet, humble, kind and jokester personality. He will be forever missed and dearly loved.
A funeral service will be held at the Forestburg Community Hall on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at 200 pm. Memorial donations in memory of Alfred may be made to the Big Knife Villa Senior's Van or to the Killam & District Health Care Foundation.
