Obituary of Phyllis Erickson
Erickson, Phyllis Yvonne was born on October 12, 1933, in Edmonton, Alberta and passed away on October 24, 2018, in Killam at the age of 85 years.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Vernon, and children; Larry, Norman (Rhonda), Darren (Gayleen), Shirley Parker, Cindy Jayme Blenkarn (Michele), and her brother Bill Gibb (Verna). She will also be lovingly remembered by her 12 grandchildren; Sheryl (Keith), Sheriesse, Ryan (Brandy), Ashley (Andre), Nathan, Jarret; Bryce, Joel; Trina, Tyler; Eric and Amanda and 5 great-grandchildren, Parker, Paige; Dylan; Carter and Jackson. She was predeceased by her father, Kenny; mother, Helen, and great-grandchild, Riley.
Phyllis attended Killam Public, Willow Hollow (south of Killam), Sedgewick Central High School, and completed her High School at Red Deer Composite High.
Phyllis worked at the U of A Hospital before returning to Killam to farm with her new husband, Vernon. She loved spending time at home, gardening, watching hummingbirds and sewing. In 1998 they built a house and moved to town, extending their winters in Arizona, enjoying cards and puzzles.
A funeral will be held at Pleasington Lutheran Church at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 29, 2018, with lunch to follow at 4:00 pm at the Killam Community Hall. Memorial donations in her memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta & Northwest Territories, the Killam & District Health Foundation - New Building Fund or the Killam Cemetery Fund.
