Obituary of George Etty
George Alfred Etty son of Alfred and Mary Etty of Galahad was born at home September 13th, 1925 and passed away September 27th, 2012 in Killam Hospital at the age of 87 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Lorene of 66 years two sons Bruce (Mary) Etty, Keith (Laura) Etty and one daughter Debra (Keith) McNabb; eight grandchildren Kevin (Lisa) Etty, Tracy (Clifford) Ness, Stephen (Sarah) Etty, Lisa (Clayton) Fedyniak, Heather (Darcy) Poettcker, Barbara (Greg) Symes, Lori (Brendan) Lunty, and Kaylyn (Conor) Luntye eleven great-grandchildren Liam, Keira, Taylor, Blake, Teagan, Ava, Zachary, Madison, Payton, Julie and Troy; one sister Kae Keichinger; one brother Bill (Dora) Etty; sister-in-law Doris Roberts and many nieces and nephews
He was predeceased by his father Alfred and his mother Mary, his brothers Albert and Ken Etty and brothers-in-law Michael Keichinger Sr. and Gordon Roberts.
George loved the farm especially in the spring and harvest time and also through the years did lots of books for people, sold hail insurance, and had his own real estate company for many years in Killam.
George was also a member of session on the Presbyterian Church Board in Galahad for 40 years as well as secretary treasurer, and an elder for the same amount of time.
He was active on the Galahad School board from 1954-1971 until the school in Galahad was closed.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 4th, 2012 at the Galahad Agriplex in Galahad, Alberta.
Memorial donations in memory of George can be made to Killam Hospital Foundation, Cancer Society, or charity of one's choice.
