Obituary of Peggi McChesney
Obituary of Margaret (Peggi) McChesney of Daysland (Formerly of Edmonton)
On Sunday May 21, 2017, Peggi passed away after a brave battle with cancer.
Peggi is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Bud, her children Sean (Caroline Farmer) of Sherwood Park, Brenda (Dave Zimmel) of Daysland, and Meg of Sherwood Park and her 9 cherished grandchildren, Zachary (Zach), Stephen, Kyle, Dalton, Dylan, Kirsten, Kendra, Mackenzie and Adrianna.
Peggi was predeceased by her parents Margaret and Leo (Buck) Behie, and sister Jean.
Peggi grew up in Timmins, Ontario, where she met her husband Bud. Peggi and Bud lived in many different locations in their early years of marriage, as Bud was in the Army. When Bud retired from the Army, they moved the family to Edmonton, which soon became home. Even so, Peggi always considered herself an “easterner”. After retirement from her administrative position with the Government of Canada, Peggi dedicated her time to caring for Bud, spending time with family and friends, walking her dogs, and playing bingo.
She will be dearly missed by many.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11:00 at the Community Christian Chapel, Kensington Shepherd’s Care, 3rd floor, 12603 - 135 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta.
In lieu of sending flowers, memorial donations can be made in Peggi’s name to Providence Place Foundation, Daysland Hospital Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Society.
