Obituary of Clemmie Horricks
Horricks, Clemmie Elaine (Berry) passed away peacefully at Killam Health Care Centre in Killam on August 8th, 2012 at the age of 90 years.
Clemmie Elaine Berry was born on November 12, 1921, the third child of Ida and Vincent Berry. She grew up in the beautiful hills along the Battle River. On June 29, 1943 she married Raymond Horricks and they started a family together, farming in the Hastings Coulee Community near Forestburg. They had eight children. In 1966 they moved to Lougheed were they owned the Maple Leaf Service and UFA Bulk Station. On April 2009 Clemmie moved into the Sedgewick Lodge.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, David Horricks (Michel' Paille') of Montreal, Sheila Horricks of Montreal, Deborah Horricks of Lougheed, Holly Bovencamp (Bruce) of Lougheed, Jamie Horricks (Stacy Short) of Lougheed; grandchildren and great grandchildren Ashley McNalley (Jason Murphy) Noah and Geneva of Calgary, Melanie Anderson (Doug) Jade and Hannah of Vancouver Island, Jonathon McNalley (Sheila) Nathanal and Madison of Leduc, Jane McClements (Corey) Liam, Chase and Danielle of Lougheed, Cory Marlow of Valley View, Jariod of Merritt, B.C. and Bailey of Lougheed, Erin McGlynn (Dale) Leonora of Buck Lake, Neil Kjelland (Colleen) of Edmonton, Alison Clemont (Te-Jay) of St Albert, Anthony Culshaw (Mary) Will and Kevin of Sedgewick, Meretta Pater (Clint) Katelyn, Julie and Elizabeth of Sparwood. Rebecca Mitchell of Rocky Mountain House, Billie Malowany (Dean) and Damon of White Court, Kevin Bovencamp of Lougheed, Tamara Bovencamp of Calgary, Karen Manning (Ryan) and Adian of Lougheed, Cassidi Horricks of Red Deer, Tyson Horricks of Red Deer, Kelsie Short of Lougheed, Cathy Albrecht of Red Deer, Melissa McSweyn (Noah) Sarah and Brooke of Slave Lake; sisters and brothers Ida Bailey of Stettler, Lowell Berry (Jeanette) of Halkirk, Warren Berry (Eileen) of Red Deer and Norma Nims (Ray of Stettler; nieces Darlene Albrecht (Ed) of Lougheed and Ethelyn Leslie of Valley View.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years in 2001; her daughters Elizabeth in 1963, Kathleen in 2004, Donna in 2007; grandson Chad in 1983; great granddaughter Jazzmin in 2011 and her brother Merill.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 16th at the Hastings Coulee Hall. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
