Obituary of Eric Aloysius de Kock
Eric Aloyisus de Kock: Rock'in life for 58 years
Father, farmer, son, husband, brother, friend, volunteer, Eskimos fan, Oilers aficionado, traveller, lover of books, and movies; Eric spent his life farming north of Hardisty. He graduated from CHSPS in 1976, and proceeded to excel at the U of A where he got his Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural engineering. Following University, Eric moved back home to help on the farm and starting working for Ranger Oil (later CNRL) where he worked for 37 years. Eric met Brenda at the Killam Rodeo. They were married August 4, 1984. In the five following years they had three children Desiree, Devin and Amy. Over the years Eric held several unofficial jobs such as a chivalrous rescuer of drivers in the ditch, snow remover for RR103, and long time president of the arena management board. To sum up, Eric was a selfless man. He is missed, loved, and his epic smile will never be forgotten.
