Obituary of Lowell Allen

Lowell Gerald Allen was born to Gerald and Mabel (Gene) Allen, September 12, 1941, in Wainwright, Alberta and passed away at Killam, Alberta on August 8, 2012, at the age of 70 years. Lowell met the love of his life, Ileen May Harris and they wed on February 2, 1963 in Wainwright. Lowell and Ileen settled in Hardisty where they raised their family, Jackie, Sandra, and Randy. Lowell was employed with Gibsons Petroleum for 28 years until his retirement in 1998. He was his happiest when he was spending time with his family, whether it was watching them play hockey, ball or just watching a movie with the kids. In his spare time he loved to go camping, fishing and tinkering in his woodshop. Lowell is survived by his loving wife, Ileen; daughters Jackie (Craig) Almberg, Sandra (Scott) Gray and son Randy (Sheila) Allen: Seven grandchildren, Dayton Almberg, Chantell Almberg, Ruby (Tyler) Larson, Shelby Gray, Sheldon Gray, Emily Allen and Casey Allen; Two great grandchildren, Mason Larson and Asha Gray; Sister, Doris Wakefield, brother Jess Allen and brother-in-law Johnny Worthing. He was predeceased by his sister, Carleen Worthing, sister-in-law, Cathie Harris, brother-in-law, Cliff Wakefield and granddaughter, Rebecca Allen. The family would like to thank Uncle Jim for saying a few words at the graveside service and to all our friends and family for their thoughts and support during this time.
