I think about you all the time! I miss your hugs, your unconditional love, I miss your love yous, both spoken and in text, and I miss the safe space and comfort of feeling at home when with you. I miss the strength you brought to our family and the connection you created - you truly were our matriarch. I can not tell you how many times I've wanted to call or visit to share exciting news with you, to talk about life and to get advice - time has not healed the hole in my heart that I feel so deeply, but time has made it so that when I think of you, I smile more than I cry.
On exactly this day, as we gathered to celebrate what we knew would be your last birthday the next day - you said I'd be okay and that you knew I'd be okay because... I took your advice, and you were right. I'm okay - but it doesn't make it hurt any less...
Today, on the eve of your 75th birthday, all I can think about is you not being here to celebrate you! I can imagine the party, the counter filled with food, the visitors coming and going, the hugs, the love and the joy of being together to celebrate you. I don't know what it's like in heaven, but I imagine a similar celebration... you visiting with loved ones, having the best dairy-free cake, laughing and dancing. Happy Heavenly 75th Birthday. I love you, and I miss you! Say hi to everyone for me. I'll be having my kitchen dance party and cake to celebrate you!
