Obituary of Fred Crone

Fred was born on September 11, 1915 to Gillman and Avaline Crone at Rosyth, Alberta. He passed away after a brief stay at the Hardisty Health Centre on September 19, 2016 at the age of 101 years and 8 days. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, June, and 2 daughters; Sherry (Royce) Schmutz and Donna (Ken) Ettinger; 6 grandchildren – Steven (Sherri) Schmutz, Lorianne Schmutz, Jaylyn (Grant) Marchand, Ryan (Kelly) Schmutz, Jena (Jason) Wagmann, Kimberly Schmutz; 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers; Tom (Bernice), Fritz (Jeannette), Laurie (Sylvia), and one sister Mary Nelson, and many nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by 3 sisters; Violet, Rosalie and Gladys. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Hardisty Community Centre. Memorial donations in memory of Fred may be made to the Hardisty Hospital Auxiliary or a charity of the donor’s choice.
