Obituary of Gary Williams
John Gary Williams was born to Verne and Olga Williams at St. Thomas, Ontario on November 23, 1937 and passed away at Killam Alberta on June 25, 2012 at the age of 74 years.
Gary served in the Canadian Air Force from November 4, 1958 to April 19, 1971. He was stationed at 4(F) Wing Baden Soellingen, Germany from 1962 to 1966 where he met his wife, Marilyn "Joyce" Jensen. They were married in 1963. After his tour in Germany, he returned to Rockcliffe, Ontario in 1966. In 1972, the family moved to Langley, B.C. In 2003 Gary and Joyce retired in Killam.
He is survived by his loving wife Joyce; daughter Dawn (Alain) Roy; sons Shawn (Denise) Williams and Daryl Williams; sister Eileen (Bill) Carrington; brother Clare (Judy) Williams; five grandchildren Tasha, Manda, Jonathan, Brett and Kyle; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; sisters-in-law Evelyn (Sardara) Bains, Joan (Allan) Ross, Linda Adams; brothers-in-law Garry (Luela) Jensen, Barry Jensen.
Gary was predeceased by his parents Verne and Olga Williams, sister Shirley (Bruce) Shaw; brothers Ed (Yvonne) Williams, Doug Williams; father and mother-in-law Viggo and Signe Jensen; brothers-in-law Harald Jensen, Hugh Adams.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 13 at the Killam Legion Hall. Inurnment will take place in the Killam Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Killam & District Hospital foundation or the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
