Obituary of Ardith Eckstrand
Ardith was born December 3rd, 1933, and passed away on August 4th, 2024, at the Killam Auxillary Hospital at 90 years of age.
She was raised on a family farm north of Sedgewick. Ardith loved curling, golfing, bowling, singing in the church choir and being a tap dance teacher. She loved knitting and crocheting dolls, blankets and jackets whenever a baby was born into the family. Ardith loved being a mom to her five boys and cherished time with her large family.
Ardith was strong, kind and loving which is evident with her involvement in the church, community and her family. She was always willing to offer a helping hand to those in need.
Ardith was predeceased by her parents Ed and Mary Simons, sister Gardelene, brothers-in-law Grant and Pat, her first love Thomas Barclay, second love Cecil Gould, third love Albert Eckstrand, her son Timothy, nephews and grandson.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sister Helen (Ken), brother Bill (Denise), her kids: Allen (Sue), Guy, Ed, Gary (Liz), daughter-in-law Linda and families including 19 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Sedgewick United Church on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 2:00 pm. A memorial luncheon will follow in the Sedgewick Seniors Centre.
