Obituary of Kara Heistad
Our daughter Kara Leigh was born in Surrey, B.C. April 29th, 1973. She was our free spirit and her song would have been “I Did it My Way!”
Kara loved her music and loved to play songs she remembered listening to when she was still at home. Kara loved animals and wanted to be vet’s assistant, but found it too painful.
She welcomed strays and had two cats and a rabbit, Tozi, Katty and Bunbun. They were very precious to her as they were her fur babies.
Kara was a very loving, caring soft-hearted young lady and would do anything for you. Family meant a lot to her and she had many “Buddies” in her life watching over her.
Kara will be incredibly missed, but never forgotten and always in our hearts.
Kara is survived by, parents Eric and Sadie; brothers, Dave (Janet), Meghan & Kaeleigh; Terry (Terra), Erika & Braeden; sister Kelsey (Wade), Alissa, Selena & Ryder; as well as a very large loving extended family and friends.
Kara was predeceased by her biological mother, Renee Joyal, and nephew, Nick Heistad.
Celebration of Life for Kara will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the Knox United Church in Killam, Alberta at 1:00 P.M.
Please join with the family for a time to fellowship and refreshments to be served here in the church hall following the service.
Memorial donations can be made in Kara’s memory to the Alberta Cancer Research, the SPCA or a charity of donor’s choice.
