It is with great sadness, that we say our final farewell to Doreen and send our condolences to her family.
Doreen is fondly remembered by our family for her gentle, kind and pleasant manner, but mostly for her lovely smile. And she smiled all the time! Jean Bernard Blacklock(1927-2012) and Doreen were second cousins and life long best friends. Doreen was the bridesmaid at Jean and Gerry’s wedding in 1949. These two ladies were so committed to their friendship over the years, always delighting in being together, and they could talk forever! In Doreen’s presence, you were the focus of her attention, she was genuinely interested and had such positive energy. She saw the best in everyone.

I knew Doreen first as the “substitute teacher”, and the lady at the store on Main Street. Then when I was grown and married saw her at the little Bellshill Lake school whee we i it was time to vote she always asked how I was s as me about my “little” family back then. Sometimes there would be a baby in tow.
It was when she moved to the Villa where I work as an HCA that I got to know her better. We had some good little visits and yes, I heard a lot about grandkids and great grands! She was certainly proud of her family.
My sincere sympathy to you all.

I wish I could of had one last visit and with curling on right now we could of spent the day talking about it. I will never forget meeting you for the first time it was maybe the late 80's you were married to Ev and we would have so many great discussions on politics and you would be getting snacks and drinks just like Linda does today when we are together. Then one Sunday when Leo and I were visiting Linda and Lynn I joined you at church that was a very special time for me. I will miss you Doreen, your laugh, your smile and most of all everything that was you ♥ Love from Wendy and Leo Dussault

Mrs. Oberg was by far the best substitute teacher we ever had at Forestburg School. I believe we even cheered one day when she showed up! Whenever I returned home to visit and had the pleasure to meet up with Doreen it was like I had never left. She was always so interested in where life had taken me and we had a good chat. The last time I saw Doreen was at my own grandmother's funeral in the late fall of 2019. Once again I sat by her and had a lengthy visit. She is so much a part of my childhood from seeing her at the movie theatre, at Bethal United, the school, and just about any and every event that Forestburg hosted. Doreen will be greatly missed by so many. My sincere condolences on her passing.
