Obituary of Nora Edgington
Nora Ileen Edgington was born to William and Gladys Shaw at home 9 miles south of Glenside Saskatchewan on January 29, 1922.
As a young woman she had the opportunity to complete 3 years at Briercrest College. She enjoyed music and was active in her church.
On October 26, 1943, Nora married Fred Edgington. They lived in Star City, Saskatchewan for 28 years and were blessed with nine children. Caring for her children, she became a seamstress, a knitter, a baker, and a gardener. She often became a second mom for those in need.
Nora went to be with her Lord and Saviour on December 9, 2014 while residing at the Galahad Care Centre. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred on March 28, 2012 and her son Kenneth in 1967. She was also predeceased by her two sisters, twin brothers and by three brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.
She is lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children, Linda, Lois (Dick) Kuilboer, Lauretta (Del) Pierce, Leonard (Loretta), Lynette (Gordon) Graff, James (Sharon), Leona (Tim) Colwell, Leola (David) Taralson; as well as 24 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law (Leola of Pennsylvania and Rayna of Melfort, Saskatchewan) and brother-in-law (Delmer of Calgary), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nora was a woman of many talents, who loved the Lord and cared for her family. She was consistently involved in her church and community. The legacy she leaves behind is an example of steadfast faith in the promises of God.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Strome Community Hall. Memorial donations in memory of Nora may be made to the Strome Community Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
