Obituary of Lauren Brodie
Lauren Elizabeth Brodie was born at Viking, Alberta to Randy and Deb Brodie on April 21, 1997 and passed away on December 2, 2014 at the age of 17 years.
Lauren was a cherished daughter with a big heart; her beautiful brown eyes, radiant smile, infectious laugh and outgoing personality made her friends wherever she went. She loved her animals and they loved her. She spent many hours riding her horses and playing with her pets. She loved being outdoors and enjoyed her time on the farm and helping her dad and papa with chores or hours jumping on the trampoline. She was the yard boss and kept track of what was happening on the farm.
Sports were her passion and she always gave 110 percent, she was a dedicated athlete and team player, who put her sports family first. Whether it was fastball, basketball, volleyball, track & field, handball or badminton she loved the game, it was undeniable that Lauren had drive and a competitive spirit so much so she would play injuries and all so not to let her team down. Her passion for sports started early while still in elementary school and continued till her passing. She participated in all the school sports as well as played club volleyball with the Killam Spartans and fastball with Killam Thunder, her competitive spirit made her a strong competitor.
Lauren loved her family and friends they meant everything to her and she loved spending time with them. Her passion for life made her a loving daughter, sister, auntie, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. Lauren's light will shine forever in the memories that she has given all of us.
Lauren leaves to mourn her parents Randy and Deb, sisters Kaylee, Jessica (Troy) and nephew Colt. Grandparents Lorne and Ida Mae Brodie, Ralph and Verna Steil, great grandparents Vernon and Rita Storbakken. Aunts and Uncles Lorna (Johnny), Kathy (Myles), Michelle (Trevor), James (Crystal), cousins and friends.
She is predeceased by her uncle Murray (Turbo) Steil.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Killam Community Centre. Memorial donations in memory of Lauren may be made to Stars, Killam Cemetery or the donor's choice.
