Obituary of Audrey Burns
Audrey Jean Burns passed away in Viking on July 21, 2014 at the age of 92 years. She was born to Ole and Dona Christenson at Irma, Alberta on September 7, 1921. Audrey was predeceased by Marshall in 1996 and baby Jessie Jean in 1950. She is survived by her son Ross (Carol), grandson Lee (Christina), granddaughter Donna (Steve); son Keith (Susan), granddaughters Ashley (Andy) and Michelle; great-grandchildren Lawrence, Marshall, Shayne, Sharla, William, Alexander, and Blake.
Audrey grew up on the farm of her parents and when she married Marshall they took on the farm and raised the boys. Crops and cows were the norm with camping trips to the lake to fish and pick berries. Both Audrey and Marshall drove the school bus from the Metropolitan to meet the Lougheed bus and then all the way to Lougheed for 27 years. Grammy very much liked to crochet, knit and shop but not necessarily in that order. When we were driving we always heard, "Hey there is a Garage Sale sign".
Grammy always encouraged us to have "happy days".
A memorial service will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Laurendeau officiating. A memorial luncheon will follow in the Kinsella Senior Centre.
